Neal has over 30 years' experience supporting over a 1000 young athletes from grassroots to Olympic level. Supported athletes successes included selection for national teams, national titles and success at World, Olympic & professional level.

 

Athletes relate to his passion and his systematic approach to performance change. He has an extensive proven track record of raising athlete's performance level through the development of performance psychology skills and the processes of performance, that maximise training and allow consistent performance at the highest level.

From an initial assessment he creates an individualised program of support. He ensures that each athlete develops robust confidence, strong attentional focus, emotional control & intelligence and high quality motivation. He develops their ability to have strong awareness, set out specific goals for success, problem solve, cope with setbacks, have strong pre competition routines and review performance independently. This means each athlete is mentally tough and able to thrive under pressure giving them a mental edge over their opponents.

 

He also has high success in dealing with specific personality and performance issues including perfectionism, poor emotional regulation, performance anxiety, inconsistent performance, struggling to reach the next level and underperforming in competition & trials/try-outs.​
